Ahhh! Sinus Steamer Blend

“Ahhh Sinus Steamer” has been a lifesaver for me.  My sinuses need all of the extra support I can give them, especially during cold, winter months.  Sometimes, the pressure is so bad, I feel like a pressure cooker, ready to explode. “Ahhh Sinus Steamer” to the rescue!

When your “Ahhh Sinus Steamer” has arrived, you’ll want to know how to use it. There are a couple of ways. I prefer the cup over the towel and bowl.

To do the cup, follow my written instructions (I really need to do a video for this). To do the bowl, see Andrea’s video, which I had start right at the steam part.

Due to the hot water, we do not recommend doing this with children!

Fill the cup halfway with water

Heat it to steaming in the microwave

Add 1 -3 drops of The “Ahhhh Sinus Steamer”

Cover cup with a paper towel, leaving a small area for your nose to fit into. It’s easiest to keep your paper towel in place with a rubber band but that’s not necessary,

Put your nose to the opening and breathe the steam in through your nose, exhaling through your mouth

Repeat until the water is no longer steamy

Do it 3-4 times a day for the first 2-3 days, then cut back to twice a day for the next 5-7 days.

Specially crafted due to my own battles, “Ahhh! Sinus Steamer” has a proprietary blend of Black Spruce (Picea mariana), Frankincense (Boswellia carterii), Copaiba (Copaifera langsdorffii), Hop (Humulus lupulus), Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia), Scotch Pine (Pinus sylvestris), Manuka (Leptospermum scoparium), Spike Lavender (Lavandula latifolia), Thyme (Thymus vulgaris), Palmarosa (Cymbopogon martinii), and Cardamom (Elettaria cardamomum).

We source only pure essential oils.

“Ahhh Sinus Steamer” Safety Info

Tisserand and Young note no special precautions for inhalation with the ratios of the essential oils in “Ahhh Sinus Steamer”. It was not developed for topical use but may be used topically if desired at a max dilution of 15% (this will keep irritating oils below the max dilutions for those oils).  Store this oil in a dark, airtight container in a refrigerator to help slow oxidation.  ~ Source:  Tisserand, Robert and Young, Rodney. Reading the full profile of each oil for “Ahhh Sinus Steamer” is highly recommended by your DeRu Extracts staff.

While we’ve made this clear that we are selling this essential oil to use in your diffuser, your inhaler, or topically (diluted), it is a pure essential oil and can be used as such.  With all essential oils:

  • Never use them undiluted, in eyes or mucus membranes (this includes mouth, ear canals, noses, genital regions as well as internal areas).  The strength of essential oils can easily damage these soft tissue areas.
  • Do not take internally unless working with a qualified and expert practitioner.
    Keep away from children.
  • If applying an essential oil to your skin always perform a small patch test to an insensitive part of the body (after you have properly diluted the oil in an appropriate carrier).

  • Oral Safety is only given because many people have been told to take oils internally.  Because several people look to us for safety advice, we feel obligated to offer those safety statements, although we do not believe anyone should be ingesting essential oils without being guided by an expert.  Experts will take your medical history into account before they suggest oils for you to ingest, diffuse, or use topically.

Information provided has not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration.

The International Federation of Aromatherapists does not recommend that Essential Oils be taken internally unless under the supervision of a Medical Doctor who is also qualified in clinical Aromatherapy. All cautions listed for individual oils do not include those cautions from ingestion.
